You’re Trying to Go Through The Consulate.
Many people assume the consulate is the fastest or easiest path. In reality, consular processing is slow, backlogged, and difficult to navigate. Unfortunately, what seems like the "official" route isn't always the most efficient one.
What they don’t tell you is that going through the consulate not only involves a timeline of 5-6 years, but it’s only one option of three. This means you don’t have to go through the consulate if you don’t want to.
The other two ways of acquiring Italian citizenship include coming physically to Italy and going through the court system. Both options have been proven to be faster than going through the consulate by YEARS.
Many individuals pursuing Italian citizenship through their consulate not only encounter long delays, confusing requirements, and administrative hurdles, but in many cases, invest significant time, money, and effort gathering documents and preparing applications only to discover later that they were never eligible to begin with. Unfortunately, the consulate does not vet individuals before all of their documents have been collected and properly prepared.
